If you’re into trading and are also interested in cryptocurrencies then you’ll probably want to learn how to trade Bitcoin. For some people, moving from the stock market to the crypto market might seem as a seamless transition, but that is not the case. Not only there are many key differences between both markets, but there’s also the “understanding” factor.

Thing is that Cryptocurrencies are very new, crypto-exchanges are even newer and none of those have even reached their full potential. It’s been more than 10 years since the blockchain technology was released and to this day, many people still have doubts about it.

So, understanding the market, the crypto trading terms and the overall nature of the blockchain technology is absolutely necessary if you want to succeed. Because even though Bitcoins are considered assets, it is not anything like holding a traditional stock.

Having said that, you also need to be aware of the similarities between both.

These Are The 6 Books That You Must Read If You Want To Get Good At Crypto Trading

You’ll notice that the first one on this list is not exactly the “bitcoin trading terminology” type of book that you would expect from such a list, but there’s a good reason for this. Crypto trading requires a lot more than just understanding blockchain and a few other terms. It is also about your ability to manage risks and make the right choice despite your emotions.

1. The Art Of Thinking Clearly

The most important and basic skill for traders, yet, it is probably the one that most traders lack. It is no surprise that the great majority of traders, especially beginners, can lose hundreds or thousands of dollars over the course of their activities.

As with any other area of our lives, adopting the proper mindset and being able to think things through will get you a long way. You have to stay focused, follow your plan and never get attached to your trades.

This is without a doubt a great book to read and with lots of lessons that can be applied to crypto-trading.

2. Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques

Whether you’re a trader or not, you’ve probably been exposed to candlestick charts before. These particularly useful charts show a lot of information that can be useful for making trading decisions. Although this book is not specific for crypto trading it is probably the only book you’ll need to read on Candlestick charts.

It was written by Steve Nison and published in 1991. What makes this book even more impressive is that it introduced the candlestick charts to the western traders. It gives you a good grasp on how to read and interpret these charts and the theory can be easily applied to crypto trading.

3. Cryptoassets: The Innovative Investor’s Guide to Bitcoin and Beyond

This is the perfect book for those who are still exploring the idea of entering the cryptocurrency world. It clearly explains what the industry is about and how everything works, from wallets to exchanges.

Although for the most experienced investors this might be a bit too basic, the understanding of these concepts will give you the edge you need. You’ll learn portfolio crypto trading terms as well as management techniques and how to navigate through some market conditions.

4. Cryptocurrency Trading and Investing: Beginners Guide to Trading and Investing in Bitcoin, Altcoins, and ICOs

This book was written by the investment advisor Aimee Vo. Just like the previous book, it is a great tool for beginners and intermediate traders. It starts with the simple explanations of the crypto world and moves to more complex topics by the end. Yes, this is “that book on blockchain”.

After the blockchain, wallets and crypto terminology, the books start touching these advanced concepts that every trader needs. You’ll learn how to perform technical analysis on coins and ICOs.

5. An Altcoin Trader’s Handbook

An all time favourite. An Altcoin Trader’s Handbook is one of the best cryptocurrency books out there. Written by Nik Pate when he was 5 years into the crypto trading world he narrates his personal experiences and the knowledge that he acquired at that time.

The book is conveniently divided into 2 parts. The first part is his perspective on crypto-trading and lessons he learned along the way. The second part of the book goes into more detail and explains some of the strategies you can use to manage risk, analyze coins and maximize profit.

It will not only help you understand the tools that you have at your disposition but you’ll also be able to learn from his experiences (and compare them to your own experiences).

6. The Art and Science of Technical Analysis

Understanding many of the viewpoints you can start building up confidence and making better decisions. This book is also focused on the candlestick charts, but it takes a more technical point of view and it elaborates a bit more on the ideas introduced by Steve Nison.

An interesting thing about this book is that Adam Grimes doesn’t say that his technical analysis is the perfect approach every time. However, he explains how market data can debunk the value of a Fibonacci analysis and focuses on the ability to recognize patterns and not falling victim to randomness.

Cryptocurrency Books

If you look hard enough, you’ll find that there’s a myriad of cryptocurrency books out there. Some are good, some are not, but you can be sure that the books on this list will prove to be the most useful. You simply can’t go wrong with these books.

Combining traditional trading strategies with crypto-trading might be a bit dearing for some people, but the potential gains can be far better than simply trading stocks.

These books can give you a general idea of how everything works but at the end, it is practice that will make you improve. Before you start trading real money you should practice and put your strategies to test. There are so many options now that you really don’t need to risk a single cent to practice in a real-market environment.
